Happy New Year from the UK.
I am visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Selmeston, a “quaint English village” near Brighton on the south coast. We’re having a wonderful time, enjoying remarkably sunny weather for England in the winter, and getting out and about to see things in this area.
As this new year begins, I look back at 2025 with mixed feelings, personally and business-wise.

I have a lot to celebrate:
- New members of the Email Writing Accountability Group.
- A successful transfer from one ESP to another.
- Wonderful clients who I enjoy working with.
- Helping one of those clients publish a book and getting it to the top of the best seller list in 3 categories on Amazon
- Moving from my old email format to this new newsletter distribution system.
I also have things I wish had gone differently, like getting more work done on my business instead of in my business. Or taking more time for myself, away from my computer screen.
The nice thing about new beginnings is they’re a chance for change. Preferably change that’s within our control.
My personal resolution for this year is to prioritize music in my life. Specifically more playing, performing, and writing music.
My professional resolution is to bring more creativity into my business. I love what I do, but I can always learn more and find better ways to express myself, as well as better ways to help my own business and my clients’ businesses thrive.
That includes your business.
I love finding and sharing simple marketing ideas that work well for everyone. And I love hearing about it when you implement them.
I hope some of what I pass along is beneficial to you and your business. And I hope you’re putting it into action.
If so, I’d love to hear about it. Please leave a comment below or email me to tell me what worked for you this year, especially if it’s something I shared with you.
Have a wonderful New Year’s Day, enjoy the rest of your holiday break, and here’s to a brighter, better, more prosperous new year for all of us.
Finally, this week’s landscape photo is of a fireworks display over the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, MN a few years ago.
