Why Brand Activism is Important to Your Business and How to Use it For the Greater Good

June 8, 2020 by Tanya Brody Leave a Comment

I went to a Ventura County Blackout protest here yesterday. It was awesome! Thousands of people of all ages, races, colors, beliefs, you name it, were there to support the Black community and say that police violence toward Black people must end now.

This may seem like an odd way to start a blog post about why brand activism is important for your business, but it’s relevant.

By showing you my politics, I am demonstrating what I stand for. I am sharing with you, my customers, subscribers and blog post readers, what matters to me. These values are reflected in the way I run my business and the organizations I support.

It is up to you to decide whether my values line up with yours and whether you want to continue to support and work with my business.

Yes, this can work for and against you. However, more and more people are making it clear they want to support businesses that profess the same values they do. They’re also making it abundantly clear that they won’t support businesses that go against their values.

Why You Need an Effective Re-Engagement Email Campaign

June 1, 2020 by Tanya Brody Leave a Comment

The whole point of having an email list and writing to your subscribers regularly is to convert those subscribers into customers.

You do that by building a relationship with your subscribers, so they see your business as a trusted authority and your products and services as the solution to their problem.

In any relationship, you want to encourage a give and take, so both sides feel like they’re getting what they need from the other person. This is no different in your relationship with your subscribers. You give value, they make purchases.

So, what do you do about those people who aren’t participating in the relationship anymore?

You bring them back into the relationship with a re-engagement email campaign.

Do You Have a Re-Engagement Email Strategy Ready to Go?

May 25, 2020 by Tanya Brody Leave a Comment

You have two different types of subscribers on your email list. The folks who open your emails with some regularity and the folks who never open your emails at all.

I realize that each of those email addresses are hard-won. The problem is, the folks who never open your emails may be inadvertently harming your entire list.

Which is why you need a re-engagement email strategy, so you can get those folks back on board, or remove them from your list.

How to Apologize to Subscribers You Haven’t Emailed for a While

May 4, 2020 by Tanya Brody Leave a Comment

When was the last time you emailed your subscribers?

Last week? Last month? Last year? Never?

Trust me, I get it.

Emailing your list regularly can be hard.

It takes time. It takes thought. You have to figure out what to write.

And you have to do it over and over and over.

Here’s the problem.

If you stop, you’re wasting all the time, energy and money you put into building that list.

Don’t abandon those subscribers. Instead, apologize in a re-engagement email, promise to do better and move forward with a plan for a regular email cadence.

Why Your Customer Retention Strategy is Like a Game of Fetch

April 13, 2020 by Tanya Brody Leave a Comment

Yes, I know, it’s a stretch. But we’re living in crazy times and I’ve had this idea on my mind for a while now. Since we’re all in captivity (and staying safe and healthy, I hope), I am going to go out on a limb and compare your customer retention strategy to playing fetch with my cat.

Why?

Because it’s fun, I get to share cute cat pictures and I get to be silly every once in a while.

Here we go…
